No1102      Germany         (KT193)           please note: the last image (for information) is of a university copy, as proof that this title is correct, the greatest extent of this map and  the extent of the formal territory of the Reich eastwards to exactly and including Galicia, appropriated by the Habsburgs in 1772 and from 1941 / 1942 partly called the District of Lemberg, so not a wholly absurd border but one that can be justified historically, since it was administered in German from 1772-1918, for over 145 years without interruption.

Manufacturer: Justus Perthes Gotha, 1 to 750,000, printed 1942, 246x195cm plus rods, without title, torn at the top, a sizeable hole from school use, ok, all borders were retouched after the war was lost in 1945 so that this teaching aid could continue to be used in schools, in West Germany Allied jurisdiction applied at first, no depiction of the Reich outside the 1937 borders, in Central Germany (the GDR) certainly not, and in the East ( Silesia etc. ) no German map was likely hung on a school wall any more, there the tried and tested variant was used ( also customary after 1919, painting over the borders, a proven method)
